The COC's unexpected collaboration

Jenna Simeonov

“Mark down 2014 as the year the Canadian Opera Company put out an album with Broken Social Scene and Fucked Up. No, really.

That’s right. With The Globe and Mail and recording label Arts & Crafts, the COC is a presenting partner of Broadsheet Music: A Year in Review, a new (and free!) album full of songs about the stories and issues of 2014 that affected Canadians. Broadsheet Music features original songs by Broken Social Scene, Fucked Up, Reuben and the Dark, and Tamara Williamson. You can also hear the voices of COC Ensemble Studio members Owen McCausland and Karine Boucher, on Fucked Up’s “Voce Rubata”, their short opera.

Super cool. Click here to visit the COC’s blog, Parlando, and read more about it. Below is a teaser video to get you even more interested.
