Talking with singers: Lauren Margison

Talking with singers: Lauren Margison

Jenna Simeonov

Young Canadian soprano Lauren Margison has lived her life surrounded by opera and the people who make it. The daughter of renowned Canadian tenor Richard Margison and of violist and stage director Valerie Kuinka, Lauren has an unique perspective on the operatic industry. She spoke with Schmopera about the life she’s seen, the big name she brings with her, and how she carves out her own identity as a singer.

Both Lauren and Richard Margison will appear in the upcoming Highlands Opera Studio Benefit Concert & Dinner, alongside baritone Nathan Gunn and plenty of HOS alumni. Monday, June 2, 6pm at First Canadian Place, 100 King St W, Toronto.
