Mezzo-soprano

Russian mezzo-soprano Anastasiia Sidorova entered the voice department of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in 2014 and studies under renowned instructors Mikael Eliasen and Julia Faulkner.

In 2016 she was selected as an Emerging Artist at Opera Philadelphia, where she made her professional debut as Roggiero in Tancredi and covered the role of Dodo in the world premiere of new chamber opera, Breaking the Waves, by Missy Mazzoli and Royce Vavrek. In the 201718 season, Anastasiia returns to Opera Philadelphia for the second year as an Emerging Artist to perform the roles of Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte and Mércèdes in Carmen.

For the summer of 2017 Anastasiia joins the Academy of the Verbier Festival in Switzerland to make her debut as Olga in Eugene Onegin and Zweite Magd in Elektra.

The highlight of the 201718 season will also be her appearance as Olga and Filippievna in Eugene Onegin and Mrs.Doc in Bernstein’s Opera A Quiet Place for the Curtis Opera Theatre.

Operatic credits include Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro (Curtis Opera Theatre), Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos (Curtis Opera Theatre/ Opera Philadelphia), Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia (Curtis Opera Theatre), Lucilla in La Scala di seta (Curtis Opera Theatre), Rosette in Manon (Curtis Opera Theatre), Marta in Iolanta (Curtis Opera Theatre), Mother Goose in The Rake’s Progress (Curtis Opera Theatre) and La Chatte in L’Enfant et les sortilèges (Curtis Opera Theatre)

She recently made her Carnegie Hall debut doing the Berio Sinfonia for 8 solo voices with Curtis Symphony Orchestra.

Ms.Sidorova was 1st prize winner in the university division of the Classical Singer competition in Chicago and won the encouragement award at the Gerda Lissner Lieder/Song competition.

Anastasiia is from Saint-Petersburg, Russia and previously studied at the St.Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Musical College.
